Water challenge for 330,000 people solved by Dynamatic® Variable Speed Drives
To meet the growing demand for drinking water, the Village of Oak Lawn, Illinois booster station needed to expand. The location for the underground booster station was along a divided avenue through a residential neighborhood. Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) could not be used because of the space and cooling requirements that would be needed within the confined area underground. These factors made selecting an Eddy Current Variable Speed Drive an easy solution to the problem. Eddy Current drives have a much smaller footprint, plus no costly cooling requirements or need for additional components such as harmonic migration.
