Celebrate 90 years of WEFTEC with Dynamatic®
Come join us in Chicago, where WEFTEC began 90 years ago. Our history goes almost as far back as the founding of WEFTEC, with our first Eddy Current clutch manufactured in 1931. Booth visitors will learn the many advantages Dynamatic® variable speed drives provide over VFDs, especially in medium voltage water and wastewater applications. Dynamatic® variable speed pump-drive systems can save you up to 65% in capital costs, and can dramatically reduce your lifetime operating costs. Our rugged and reliable design makes them simple to maintain and Dynamatic® pump-drive systems are proven to outlast VFDs by as much as 6:1.

Water challenge for 330,000 people solved by Dynamatic® Variable Speed Drives
To meet the growing demand for drinking water, the Village of Oak Lawn, Illinois booster station needed to expand. The location for the underground booster station was along a divided avenue through a residential neighborhood. Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) could not be used because of the space and cooling requirements that would be needed within the confined area underground. These factors made selecting an Eddy Current Variable Speed Drive an easy solution to the problem. Eddy Current drives have a much smaller footprint, plus no costly cooling requirements or need for additional components such as harmonic migration.

Dynamatic® celebrates Hydraulic Institute Centennial in Orlando, FL
In March Dynamatic® traveled to Orlando, Florida to attend the Hydraulic Institute’s Annual Conference and Centennial Celebration. While there Dynamatic® attended keynote presentations on the future of the pump industry. The conference was also celebratory as all members received a commemorative Hydraulic Institute 100 Years of the Pump Industry book. The book contained a timeline of the pump industry, and many members’ milestones. Included in the book from 1958 was a Dynamatic® installation of 3 variable speed drives at a sewer pumping station in Venice, California. These pump industry milestones were also on display at the conference. The conference ended with Dynamatic® as one of the sponsors of the Hydraulic Institutes golf outing.
Presentation at MWEA Wastewater Administrators Conference
Dynamatic’s Gary Patterson gave a 45-minute presentation during the MWEA event held in January 2017. Patterson discussed the topic of one of his recently published articles on tying carbon emission reduction to saved energy at “negative costs”. The discussion concentrated on climate change and finding ways to reduce or eliminate emissions of greenhouse gases, most notably CO2. The presentation emphasized how to easily save energy in wastewater treatment with “optimal speed” or “high efficiency” pumping by using variable speed systems.
3-Part Webinar: Wastewater Pumps – Feb. 16/21/23
Dynamatic® is excited to work with the Hydraulic Institute, presenting session two of a 3-part webinar series on Wastewater Treatment Plant Pumps. The series begins Thursday, February 16th at 1:00pm ET. Our very own Joe Witts will serve as a subject matter expert and instruct session 2. “Pump Requirements for Plant Operators” on February 21st.
Registration is normally $279 per registrant and includes a complimentary, downloadable PDF copy of the Wastewater Treatment Plant Pumps Guidelines for Selection, Application and Operation guidebook (retail $175). The Hydraulic Institute has provided a special registration fee of $209.25 (25% off) for Dynamatic contacts by using the link https://goo.gl/YRX6lJ.
